Artist Statement
With PDA (public displays of affection, openly queer couples tend to be more afraid of violence than cishet ones, so this was created along the thinking of "I don't care about everyone else and them looking at us, I’m just happy I get to exist as me despite everything that’s happened to me", especially with the people I love. Simply existing as who I’ve always to be my whole life, with people that love me unconditionally is enough (most of the time)" - Alex Doan

Problem
I found that one problem I come across online quite a bit is anti-queer sentiments, resulting in queer people easily being titled as "snowflakes" and other generally negative stereotypes about the group.
Solution
In combating this, I wanted to create art that celebrates the identities and lives and what I find the most loving thing about being queer; being able to care and love the people who do the same for me despite how some people in the world may perceive me.
